Engagement Sessions

Engagements are a wonderful time for us to work together. Not only are we taking time to celebrate your love we are breaking down walls at the same time. When I get the chance to work with you before the wedding that allows me to get to know the real you. The quicker we get past the "we just met" stage to that "I feel like I have known you forever stage"…the better. The engagement session does just that!

We will always shoot 1 hour before sunset for your engagement session. This is the best time for portraits and the prettiest time of day. I always encourage my couples to wear 2 different outfits for their engagement sessions. One dressy and one casual,  this gives you options when you are choosing images for your home, save the dates, or gift prints. If you want to choose the location you can, although most of my couples allow me  to choose the locations based on my desire to do something new and different. You can trust that I will select a location that brings your love to life and creates an ambiance as the setting to your images.

Details, Details, Details

What To Wear

I encourage my couples to wear soft colors in the summer. Colors that are natural like white, tan, muted tones, pastel tones. In the fall I think you should bring on the reds, yellows, and browns. Paying attention to your fashion gives you that confidence boost that can only help us out during a shoot. If you feel good, you look good.
Remember….NO MATCHY, MATCHY! Do not wear matching shirts. You don't want to look like brother and sister in family pictures. Your outfits should compliment each other. Complimenting sometimes means contrast.
