Romantic Outdoor Fall Wedding in Omaha

There are times in my career as a wedding photographer that I am so taken back by a couple that it shows me exactly why I do this. A wedding that reminds me why I started to do this in the first place. It's a simple reason, really. Love. An energy between two people that can be so electric it sets others on fire.

I knew the moment I met Carrie & Matt that they were meant to be. Relationships are made up of two people who can sometimes be so opposite. However, when I met these two they had the same glow. They were made of the same kind of magic. They shared this connection that I could see, hell I could even feel it. I wonder if they know that they have the kind of love people write about?

I already knew they were special people from spending time with them at their rehearsal dinner, but then I found another clue. A special ring box with a little tune written on the front. A song from an old cartoon that I am sure most people wouldn't recognize. That's when I was blown away and was certain I had stumbled into a wedding I was meant to be at. I learned a lot from you two. The biggest reason I am sure will present itself in time but for now, I prepared a short list.
1. Laugh, a lot.
2. Go through life yelling positive things.
3. Smart phones only hold you down.
4. When you kiss, kiss like you mean it...

So here is to singing about the moon, or tea for two, or a sky so blue.

If you'd like to see what the ring box was all about you can see this little clip I LIKE TO SINGA CLIP

Hastings Ne Church Wedding

Fall. The season brings change, cooler weather, harvest, beautiful colors, and my favorite time of year. This was my first fall wedding of the year. The day started with rain and ended with a beautiful sunset. The weather that day kind of reminded me of how a wedding day feels. Kinda crazy in the beginning but always ending in a beautiful celebration of life. I think weddings and and sunsets have that in common. They both celebrate the old and the new.

Kyle and Joyce's wedding was at the First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings, Ne. The church is grand and large, the church fits perfectly in with Hastings historic downtown. We stopped at the train station to take some photographs and even ran into another bridal party. The wedding reception was at the Hastings Fair Grounds.

Thank you so much for allowing me to be there Joyce & Kyle!

Outdoor Nebraska Wedding | Burchell's Farm House

The summer heat let up just enough for Michala and Jake to host a charming wedding at Burchell's Farm House in Minden. The farm house was a honest reflection of the couple's life and upbringing. As a farmers they were even represented by the scenery of the wedding day. And in true build it yourself, put a little love behind it farming fashion the groom even cooked all of the meat for the wedding! The wedding itself was a small gathering of close family and friends. The reception was huge, held at the Minden Fair Grounds. I have never seen the fairgrounds building as full as I did that night. All to celebrate the love of two people. It was a perfect summer day that lead to a perfect summer night and the beginning of forever for this couple. Enjoy a peek into the wedding!

Omaha Double Tree Wedding Photography

Brandie and Louis were married at the Double Tree Downtown Omaha, where the skyline is the main view from the 19th floor. Elevators that showcase the Omaha skyline take you up to the wedding floor and the modern look of the hotel acts as a great backdrop. The staff at the Double Tree is so kind and friendly. They also offer a chef to prepare your wedding meals to only add to the high end, custom experience of the wedding day.

The reception was held at the Livestock Exchange Building in one of the ballrooms. The Livestock Exchange was just as historic and grand on the inside as you would hope it to be. It was like transporting back in time when you step out of the elevator. It was really a beautiful venue with character and great lighting! Plus a night skyline view of the Omaha city lights.
